Real Madrid waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo move

Real Madrid are ready to play the waiting game in their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester United winger has in recent days, has maintained its position not to reveal where he wants to play next season after Euro 2008.

While United are adamant the Portugal international is not for sale, and Madrid were reported to FIFA over their public court of 23 years, the player is keeping all parties guessing on its future.

Madrid Director General of the Presidency Miguel Angel Arroyo claims the Spanish giants are happy to stand idly by and see what happens.

Angel Arroyo told Spanish newspaper Marca: "We expect Ronaldo to say something, and when he says he wants to play for Real Madrid, there will be conversations between the two clubs.

"We are happy to reach an agreement with Manchester United, if it is possible, if they want to sell and if the price was affordable."

Madrid coach Bernd Schuster said on the radio station Cope: "We are left hanging on a bit because of what's happening in the Championships of Europe.

"At present, there are a lot of speculation, but that's normal."
